Breath-taking landscapes. Mountain climbing – learn a patient’s history. My mountaineering adventure began when I first tried indoor climbing, which was many years ago. I was not good at it then and I did not think mountain climbing would become my passion, the one that would completely engross me. I had a few friends who repeatedly took me with them to climbing walls and I gradually became a regular fixture in such places. It was already then that I had to solve my problem with wearing glasses. I was a short-sighted person and I had a severe refractive error of -8 dioptres. I tried exercising in contact lenses, but it all changed when I started going rock climbing…

Mountain climbing and glasses? I do not need to convince anyone that they are mutually exclusive. One sudden movement and the glasses may break into little pieces. Sweat also adds to the problem – the glasses slide on the nose, hindering concentration, and they frequently steam up, which limits visibility. An exception might be sports glasses, but they are not too comfortable either. That is why I usually took contact lenses to the mountains. Unfortunately, rock climbing in the mountains is not the same as indoor climbing on a wall for a few hours. I often did not have a Chance to take off the lenses for a long time. I complained of various eye irritation and infections more and more frequently. Believe me, it is the last thing you need while climbing to the top.

Therefore, a thought about laser vision correction repeatedly came across my mind. I did some research on the Internet, I made some phone calls and I found an ophthalmologic clinic. The results of the qualifying examination were positive and I underwent the surgery on that very same day. Everything went smoothly, according to the plan. I could return to mild sports training as soon as a few days after the procedure. However, I had to wait about 3 months for rock climbing and indoor climbing as it was how much time it took for my eyes to fully recover.

A difference? Unbelievable! Laser vision correction is an investment which pays off already during your first climbing. Comfort and vision quality are worth such a decision.
