Laser vision correction — why is it worth trusting a specialist? |

In the ArtLife Ophthalmologic Centre, both the preliminary qualifying examination and the laser vision correction procedure itself are performed by the same ophthalmic surgeon. This allows the doctor to know exactly what the patient expects and how to conduct the treatment process to obtain the best correction results.
In our Centre, refractive surgeries are performed by:
Piotr Kanclerz – Ph.D., ophthalmologist, ophthalmic surgeon, and
Mateusz Koberda – Ph.D., ophthalmologist, ophthalmic surgeon.
Despite many years of experience, they constantly broaden their knowledge, which translates into the number of patients satisfied with the treatment.
It happens that patients, before making a decision about the procedure, read various Internet forums and ask questions there to find out as much as possible. Too much – often divergent – information before visiting the clinic, directs the patient towards certain expectations. This often reduces trust in specialists.
In our Centre, the patient remains under the care of the same doctor throughout the whole treatment – starting from the qualification, through the procedure, and ending with the convalescence period. It is important to consult any disturbing symptoms with the attending physician during the follow-up examination and not to search for answers in unreliable sources or people unrelated to refractive surgery.
Each patient reacts differently to the treatment and obtains different results due to their individual features, such as the general health condition, age, and lifestyle. Nevertheless, it is still worth attending a qualifying examination to independently assess the professionalism and commitment of the clinic and the doctors who work there.
The preliminary qualification for a laser vision correction procedure is not only several examinations and measurements necessary to establish an appropriate diagnosis. It is also a perfect opportunity to share your potential concerns and expectations with the doctor. The patient-doctor relationship always plays an extremely important role in the treatment process.
Already at the qualification stage, the patient is able to assess whether the ophthalmic surgeon is trustworthy and whether it is worth having the procedure performed by them.
The patient significantly influences the treatment results, for instance, by properly applying the eye drops prescribed at the Centre and following the post-operative recommendations and adhering to temporary restrictions.
