What are laser vision correction methods? |

A laser vision correction surgery is always preceded by a preliminary qualifying examination during which the doctor takes the patient’s medical history and checks the eye parameters – the general condition of the eyes and the degree of the refractive error, as well as the thickness and curvature of the cornea. On the basis of all the above the information and the results of the tests performed during the examination the doctor suggests the most suitable procedure method, i.e. the way in which the cornea is prepared for the laser correction.
There are clinics which offer the possibility to correct presbyopia with the use of so called LBV (laser blended vision. Among well-known presbyopia correction technologies are: PresbyMAX i Presbyond LBV (otherwise Clearvu). The names are created by laser manufacturers and they derive from the type of the technologies implemented in the procedure. However, regardless of the type of laser used for the surgery, the corneal preparation phase is based on the same methods which are used for laser correction of refractive errors and are selected on the basis of the preliminary qualifying examination results.
Our centre offers laser surgeries performed with the WaveLight EX500 excimer laser with the following range of treatment:
Each of the currently available methods allows for efficient correction of refractive errors. However, there might be methods for which you will not be qualified. In order to increase the patient’s qualification chances our doctors perform the surgery with one of the following methods: SBK LASIK, LASEK and TransPRK (StreamLight).
If you are interested in making an appointment for a preliminary qualifying examination alone or for a one-day procedure (examination and surgery on the same day), fill in a preliminary qualification form available online on our website or call our centre. Under the PRICELIST tab you can find current prices of the qualifying examination and particular correction methods.
