16.04.2020

policjaWorking in the police force means risking one’s life and health for the sake of the safety of others on everyday basis. Despite all the dangers this heroic service invariably attracts a large number of candidates eager to join the ranks of the police. However, do not forget that courage, quickness of mind and responsibility are not the only criteria required to be met in order to be employed in the uniformed services …

One of the stages in the recruitment process is the evaluation of a candidate’s mental and physical capacity. Refractive errors are among the most common reasons why a person may be assessed as unfit for work in the police. If you have been disqualified due to a vision defect, do not give up! Laser vision correction may be your chance to pursue your dream career! Find out a true story of a man who found himself in a similar situation.

Every time I saw police officers at work, my heart started pounding with excitement. I had been thinking of applying for the police for quite some time when I finally decided to have the surgery. I passed the tests and then I received a medical examination referral and with a clearance slip in my hand I started visiting various specialists. To my great surprise it turned out that I was unfit for police work! My dreams of becoming a police officer were thwarted by a refractive error whose severity slightly exceeded the standards accepted by the Ministry of the Interior and Administration of the Republic of Poland. Fortunately, I took a piece of clever advise and instead of giving up I had a laser vision correction procedure. I lodged an appeal against the decision of the medical board, I underwent a qualifying examination in the Ophthalmologic Centre and I had the surgery. Then the medical board referred me to another ophthalmologic examination and this time the results were fantastic! The board unanimously declared me fit for police service! I am glad that I have decided to have a laser vision correction surgery. I must admit that at the beginning I was afraid of the procedure, I looked into the risk of complications and I spent a lot of time studying the offers of different clinics. Luckily, my concerns proved to be unfounded. The surgery was conducted smoothly, without any complications. Today, when I hear stories similar to mine, I encourage everyone to undergo the procedure themselves. If you choose a reputable clinic and you follow the doctor’s instructions after the surgery, you do not need to worry about any side effects. Banal as it may seem, looking back I realise that simple decision has completely changed my future!

It is only one of many similar stories of patients who have decided to have a laser vision correction procedure. If you are planning to join the police but you have a significant refractive error, you should consider laser vision correction. Or are you already applying for a job in the uniformed services but you have been assessed as incapable of work due to a refractive error exceeding permissible limits? Do not give up on your plans! We truly hope that the above story will encourage and inspire you to fight for your dreams! File an appeal, and in the meantime make an appointment for the surgery. Laser vision correction is safe, quick and painless, and most importantly – it will enable you to get your dream job.
